Rabbi Greenbaum Live Tuesday Night

Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum of Azamra Institute in Jerusalem, Israel will be lecturing live on the Internet Tuesday night at 7PM CST. He will be addressing the topic of Gentiles and the Torah, as well as some insights into various aspects of the current situation in Israel. The lecture is being held in a non-orthodox setting and venue and is intended for non-Jews, although anyone can benefit from his teaching. For that reason, we wanted the UTN audience to know about this event.

The Way of G-d

Biblical Faith - with Sam Peak
Weekly series with new shows available every Tuesday.

HaShem did not desire to write the Torah so clearly that it would not need any explanation. Quite to the contrary, HaShem wrote in it many undefined concepts, so that no man could possibly know its true meaning without being giving an explanation. This explanation must come through a tradition emanating from HaShem Himself, Who is the Author of the Torah.

Weekly Torah Portion: Chayei Sara

Light to the Nations – with Rabbi Chaim Richman
Weekly series of short messages concerning the weekly Torah Portion.

“And Abraham was old, advanced in days…” (Genesis 24:1) The original Hebrew verse is best translated as, “And Abraham was old, arriving in days…” Our sages teach us that when a person dies and seeks entry into the next world the days of his life come forward to testify as to how he spent his days: in holiness or otherwise. In Avraham’s case, his days arrived before the heavenly court and testified to a life of righteousness.

Mystery of the Talit, part III

Light to the Nations – with Rabbi Chaim Richman of The Temple Institute.

Weekly series with new teachings available every Thursday.

The talit - prayer shawl - and tzitzit - fringes - enable the worshipper who has enveloped himself within the talit to draw upon the holy light of G-d’s infinite being, known as the surrounding light, and to wrap himself within this light. This surrounding light enables him to pray in solitude even when praying in a quorum. This same light, as embodied in the talit, will accompany him into the next world, testifying to his good deeds.

Mysteries of the Creation

Biblical Faith - with Sam Peak
Weekly series with new shows available every Tuesday.

All these things show us clearly that the Sages describe Olam haBah as a material world. Undoubtedly, as Ramban says, a more refined and spiritual material world, but material nonetheless. When the time arrives in which (Isaiah 11:9) “The earth is full of the knowledge of HaShem as the waters cover the seas,” the world will be fit for t’chais hamaysim (resurrection of the dead), when it will return to the state before the chet of Adam haRishon, in which there was no death. T’chais hamaysim, as Ramban shows so compellingly, inaugurates Olam haBah.

Light to the Nations – with Rabbi Chaim Richman
Weekly series of short messages concerning the weekly Torah Portion.

Avraham Avinu was tested ten times by G-d throughout his life. The final and most awesome of the trials was the binding of his son Yitzchak, (Isaac). He faced these trials with equanimity and love. We, too, are tested throughout our lives by G-d. By meeting our own personal trials with the love exhibited by Avraham we, too, can experience G-d’s profound love for us.

The Way of G-d

Biblical Faith - with Sam Peak
Weekly series with new shows available every Tuesday.

It is necessary to know that even though true good is attained by each individual according to their deeds, creation as a whole cannot be perfected until the entire  Chosen People exists in it optimum state. They must be perfected through every possible aura (of holiness), and the Divine Presence must attach itself to them. Only then can the world attain a perfect state where each individual can attain (the reward) that they deserve according to their deeds.

Temple Mount Awakening: Rabbi Chaim Richman & Yehudah Glick - Sukkot 5769

Rabbi Chaim Richman and Temple Institute Director Yehudah Glick discuss the Hakhel events which the Temple Institute conducted during the first of the intermediary days of Sukkot, and the unprecedented response of the people of Israel who arrived from the four corners of the land by the hundreds and thousands to participate in the biblically commanded Hakhel ceremony and to ascend in reverence to the Temple Mount, where Torah verses were recited aloud to mark the Hakhel.

The Rabbi and Yehudah describe the spiritual awakening they were witness to and the growing reconnection of the Jewish nation with the Temple Mount, the holiest place on earth.

Mysteries of the Creation

Biblical Faith - with Sam Peak
Weekly series with new shows available every Tuesday.

Rav K’tina asserts that the world is destined to exist six thousand years. In the seventh millennium it will be obliterated (changed), when the world of this verse (Isaiah 2:11) will be fulfilled, “HaShem alone will be mighty on that day”… There is proof to the opinion of Rav K’tina, for we learn, “Just as each seventh year is Shmitta, a yeay of sabbatical, so the world will have a sabbatical one thousand years in a period of seven thousand, as the novi proclaims, HaShem alone will be mighty on that day.” Another verse, Psalms 92a, indicating the same idea: “A song, a poem for the day of Shabbot,” referring to a day of utter sabbatical. “Day” in these verses means one thousand years, as we learn from, Psalms 90:4, “One thousand years in Your eyes are like a day, like the previous day just passed.”
