“Noach found grace in the eyes of HASHEM.”
This expression indicates the particular affection and esteem which G-d accords to an individual or to a people: as Israel. When G-d fulfilled Moses’ dearest desire, He did so because Moshe had found favor in HASHEM’s eyes. This distinction is reserved for those who are the most deserving of G-d’s friendship, even if there is not a rational explanation for this, as R’ Meir emphasizes.

Thus, with humanity on the verge of destruction, G-d concentrates His love on one man and one family. On them He builds the future of the entire universe. One righteous being is capable, by himself, of saving all humanity: “…the righteous person is the foundation of the world” (Proverbs 10:25).

Great program! Very informative and timely with the weekly Parsha. Wonderful insights into what makes a Tzaddik. I especially enjoyed the bit on the Moshiach riddle.
