Avraham  saw his appointed meeting place with G-d as a distant and foreboding mountain, (Mount Moriah), and Yitzchak  envisioned the Holy Temple to be a field, accessible and alive. But it was Yaakov  who understood the Holy Temple to be a home, a nurturing, loving center in which G-d and all mankind can embrace.

This week features:

Talking Torah with Famed Noahide Author & Filmmaker Jim Long

Temple Talk Confronts the Controversial Question: Who is Esav Today?

Yitzchak blesses YaakovYaakov, our illustrious patriarch, flees from Esav’s  enmity and winds up in the arms of that arch spin-master, Lavan. But on his way to the land of Charan, he stops off at the Temple Mount, there to cement his relationship with the G-d of Israel and all his future generations. In this week’s high-energy edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman have a special guest in the studio: none other than our good friend Mr. Jim Long, famed Noahide author, Egyptologist, filmmaker and noted lecturer on the Noahide laws… as well as on the Oral Tradition of the Torah. Jim turns his inimitable wit and wisdom to the subject of Yaakov  and Esav, especially as featured in his new upcoming book, Blood Brothers. Together, we ponder the relationships and reality of Yaakov and his nemesis, locked in a multi-level struggle to this very day.

Biblical Faith – with Shmuel “Sam” Peak

Mishnah One (continues)

Happiness flows from completeness, just as grief is the result of loss and deficiency. Since the world was created to provide us with opportunities to enrich our lives through Torah, it is clear that Torah brings completeness into our lives and hence to the entire world. A person who engages in sincere Torah study gladdens the Omnipresent, for he fulfills the verse “G-d shall rejoice in His works” by bringing completeness to His works.

The classic tale of deception and intrigue. But who is deceiving who? and who is really being fooled? Ya’akov  dons precious garments and goat skins, but by doing so is he deceiving his father Yitzchak, or is he opening Yitzchak’s  eyes for the first time to a lifetime of deception he has suffered at the hands of Esau, the real master of the bluff?

Chapter 6

Mishnah One

Emunah channel coming soon. For Info www.torahfaith.org

The term “Torah” is used in different contexts to refer to various aspects of the Torah. It may refer at times to a Torah scroll; to all Scripture; or to the laws of the Torah. In this chapter, Maharal considers Torah in its fullest scope, as an entity that embodies all truth. Here, “Torah” refers to ontology and law; theory and practice; values, principles and relationships; history and philosophy; as articulated or implied by G-d’s communication to mankind through Moshe. All we know about G-d is in the Torah, and within Torah lies even more about G-d than we will ever comprehend.

This week features:

Of Blessings, Curses, and Destiny Hanging in the Balance

Two Roads Diverged in a Yellow Wood: Yaakov & Esav at the Crossroads of Humanity

Yitzchak blesses Yaakov“The children agitated within her, and she said, ‘If so, why am I thus?’ And she went to inquire of Hashem. And Hashem said to her: ‘Two nations are in your womb; two regimes from your insides shall be separated; the might shall pass from one regime to the other, and the elder shall serve the younger’.”  (Gen. 25:22)

Yitzchak’s  soulmate, the righteous matriarch Rivkah, was baffled by the drama taking place within her womb… a veritable battle of opposing forces that seemed to be pitted against each other in a fight to the death. She was soon to realize that she was host to no ordinary struggle, but rather, bearing the precursor to a reality that would soon shake the very foundations of this world. For Yaakov  and Esav  are diametrically opposed forces, and the fate of all mankind – indeed, the ultimate redemption itself – hangs in the balance of their conflict, a conflict being played out today. Join Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman for a riveting edition of “Temple Talk” as they explore the mysteries of Parashat Toldot, and ponder the universal and contemporary implications posed by the seemingly inexplicable, age-old questions in this mystifying Torah portion.
