Biblical Faith – with Shmuel “Sam” Peak
Weekly series with new shows available every Tuesday.
Chapter 3 18c
“You are children to HaShem.”
The relevant characteristics of a child are:
1) The child is the parent’s.
2) A parent values the child for the child themselves, and not for any utility they may provide.
The people of Yisra’el are called “children” of HaShem because they are His, and because they were created as an end in their own right, and not to serve some other purpose. Indeed, the world itself was created to serve His people and therefore only they are called “children.” That is why His love for Yisra’el is like that of a father towards his own child, and why we can have complete bond with Him.

The two Torah portions, Matot and Masei, which conclude the book of Numbers are read together as one. What is the true connection between Matot, which begins with the laws concerning the responsibility of taking upon oneself a vow, and the opening verses of Masei, which describe the journeys of Israel in the wilderness? Taken together, they provide for us a key and a map to our own life’s journey.
Matot-Masei (Numbers 30:2-36:13)
Parashat Matot-Masei is read on Shabbat:

Weekly series with new teachings available every Thursday.
Next week on Light to the Nations:
To be Announced
Rabbi Akiva said, the entire Tanach, (Scripture) is likened unto the Kodesh, (Sanctuary of the Holy Temple), and the Song of Songs is likened unto the Kodesh Hakedoshim, (The Holy of Holies). The Holy of Holies is the spot of the most intimate aspects of the relationship between G-d and man. (This LTTN teaching was originally webcast in June, 2009.)
Dedication: This show is dedicated to Dr. Jason Specht & family.
