Living in the absolute presence of G-d that prevailed at the Sinai revelation is not something that we human beings are capable of sustaining or surviving. But we can and must treat one another in such a way that G-d will desire that His presence will dwell among us. The Torah reading of Mishpatim teaches us how to live peacefully with one another. Only when that lesson has been learned can we turn our collective hearts and efforts to the grandest of plans which lays in store: the building of a Sanctuary for G-d here on earth. Also, a short history of freedom, from Sinai to Avraham “Yair” Stern, whose yartzheit is this coming Sunday, (25 Shvat).

Mishnah 21 Part Two
Rabbi Yaakov says: This world is like a lobby before the World to Come; prepare yourself in the lobby so that you may enter the banquet hall.
There are levels of the World-to-Come, ranging from the elementary existence of techias hameisim, to a very long, good life, to truly eternal non-physical existence. The World-to-Come can be a pleasant, happy tranquil experience, or it can be endlessly intolerable. After we are restored to life, HaShem will conduct the ultimate judgment,דיך וח’בוך . Those who merit will proceed to long life, while others will proceed to endless shame, and all will depend on the beliefs, choices and actions taken in this world.
Shifting from the “grand” revelation at Sinai to the seemingly “mundane” concerns of the commandments expressed in
Mishpatim, the Torah maintains its consistent message: All aspects of our lives have the potential to be elevated to holiness.

G-d commands and man fulfills. The long anticipated coming of the moshiach is not linked in any way to Israel’s obligation to build the Holy Temple, as explicitly commanded in Torah by G-d to the Jewish people. Nor is the popular notion that the Holy Temple will descend from heaven ready-built based in Torah or halachic reality.
