Temple Talk is a weekly internet radio webcast with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven of the Temple Institute.
This week features:
Eikev: No Place Like Israel
The 9th to the 15th and the Changing Seasons: Making Our Way to Rosh HaShana
Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven talk about the passage of time and the changing seasons as the heartbreak of the 9th of Av is superseded by the renewed love of the 15th of Av; death in the desert is superseded by life in the holy land of Israel; and the wood offering takes its yearly pause, so that no rotten wood will be found in the Holy Temple.

Biblical Faith – with Shmuel “Sam” Peak
Chapter 5
Mishnah 14 and 15
Whether one is a staunch character or a flaccid character, their actions will be consistent with their nature. A strong-natured individual will be difficult to anger and equally difficult to pacify. A weak individual will be easily angered and just as easily pacified. It is highly unusual for a person to be firm in one way, such as not getting angry, and soft in another way, such as being easily pacified.

Moshe expresses two chief concerns as he speaks to Israel: Every one of the 613 commandments is important in G-d’s eye and should likewise be regarded by the people, and the true destination and proper location for the performance of each of the 613 commandments is in the land of Israel itself.

Moshe wanted nothing more than to cross the Jordan and see the holy land, “the good mountain, and the Levanon.” (Deut. 3:23) But G-d would not allow it. What at first seems like a harsh rebuke, is, on a much deeper level, a compassionate expression of G-d’s love for Moshe and for Israel.
