I Remember the Time You Told Me, ‘Love is Touching Souls’

Parashat Ki Teitzei: The Betrothed Woman in the Field Cries Out ‘Save Me!’

Ramadan Trash on theTemple Mount
Rabbi Chaim Richman & Yitzchak Reuven take a not-at-all wistful look at Ramadan Woodstock and the week-after refuse on the Temple Mount. What is the difference between the longing of ahava  – love – and the yearning of devekut  – clinging? How is it that after two thousand years of exile we can say with complete sincerity that when it come to us Jews and the Temple Mount: We’ve never been apart!  Yes, ma’am, they can thrash it and trash it, but the Mount remains a part of us – and that they cannot take away!

Biblical Faith – with Shmuel “Sam” Peak

What is the definition of wholehearted acknowledgment of G-d’s unity? The accord of heart and tongue in acknowledging the unity of the Creator, after arriving at verification — through argument — of His existence and absolute oneness, by way of analysis. For the acknowledgment of G-d’s unity varies among men, according to their different levels of insight and understanding.
There are those who acknowledge His unity only with their tongues. They hear others professing something, and they do likewise, but they have no knowledge of the meaning of what they are saying.

Dedicated to Buck and Barbara Bradford.

As Moses continues to flesh out G-d’s plan for a Torah based society in the land of Israel, one thing becomes crystal clear: The Holy Temple from which shines forth the Divine presence, (Shechina), is the light and the source of justice – how we treat our fellow man, and worship – how we stand before G-d. We cannot achieve justice between men if we do not stand before G-d, and we cannot stand before G-d if we do not seek justice between men.

Shoftim (Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9)

Temple Talk Sends a Special Message to Ahmadinejad

Israel’s Youth, Fearless and Proud, Ready to Take Back the Temple Mount

Temple Mount in our hands
The month of Elul  has arrived and the shofar is sounded on Temple Talk, signaling the time of repentance, introspection and preparation for the “reckoning and accounting”  that we will be giving very shortly… In the meantime, the King is in the Field and it’s time to get real. In this week’s edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman talk about getting real on the individual, national and global level… from the courageous and dedicated Israeli youth who organized a protest this past week against ongoing Islamic desecration of the Temple Mount, to the issue on the tip of everyone’s tongue: the dance currently being performed by Israel and Iran. Inspired by the call of Elul, Rabbi Richman sends special warm and personal regards to Iranian President Ahmadinejad!

Rabbi Bachya: I thought it fitting to close the introduction to this book with a beautiful parable. May it inspire you to delve into the subject, and bring you to realize the standing of this class of duties among the others, as well as the standing of the other science — physics, mathematics, and logic — vis-à-vis the science of the Torah. As you read it, understand it well, meditate upon it, and with HaShem’s help, you will find what you desire.
May HaShem show us the way to serve Him, as His anointed one entreated Him: “Teach me the path of life, fullness of joy is in your Presence; in Your hand there is bliss, for evermore” (Tehillim 16:11).

In memory of the Attais family. Rachel survived.

Israel is given a choice and a challenge: Choose to rid the land of idolatrous practices and choose to live each moment in G-d’s presence, and G-d will abide in His chosen place, from which will shine forth His Holy Shechinah.

The Cult of Death vs. the Celebration of Life

‘The Place that I Will Choose’ and the Choice Between Blessing and Curse

Mota Gur
The last edition of Temple Talk for this closing month of Menachem Av  focuses on the confluence of the headlines with the themes of this week’s Torah portion, parashat Re’eh. The Torah exhorts us to ‘see’ the difference between a life of blessing or conversely, that of curse. The choice, as usual, is ours… and we also choose our fate: how we succeed both as individuals and as a nation, how the other nations perceive us, whether or not we will be going to war – all is connected to the introduction we receive in this week’s parasha  to “the Place that I will Choose.”  Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman, together with all of Am Yisrael,  also choose that place! Unfortunately, not only are Jews disallowed from praying there for fear of inciting the Muslims – but now even the immortal, historic words “The Temple Mount is in Our Hands” have been deemed illegal! Which way are we heading? Only the coming month of Elul, the special time of spiritual reckoning and re-calibration, knows for sure…
