Ki Tisa: Jewish Unity Vs. The Golden Calf and Other False Gods
Echoes of the Golden Calf: The World Lectures to Israel on Morality & Justice
In this week’s Torah portion of Ki Tisa, we read about the cataclysmic debacle of the Golden Calf: While still standing at the foot of Mount Sinai, Israel is hoodwinked by the nefarious Mixed Multitude, and under their influence, the nation blunders. This week’s powerful, unsettling edition of Temple Talk finds Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman discovering that the nation of Israel is still grappling with the ominous echoes, overtones and results of the Golden Calf even today. It’s not just a question of bowing down to a cow… it’s about disguising and misrepresenting our values. Today’s modern mixed multitude, princes of hypocrisy, continue to dictate Israel’s moral code, and sell her the Brooklyn Bridge… while selling her down the river. Warning: This show is politically incorrect!

Is the Holy Temple a Building of Stone, or a Castle in the Air?
The World to Israel: We’re Not Anti-Semitic, But Why Don’t You Just Die Already?
As the entire people of Israel read the weekly Torah portions that describe the desert Tabernacle, forerunner of the Holy Temple, and all the details of its appointments, Temple Talk takes umbrage at those who think that the more we study, and the nicer we behave, well…. suddenly the Holy Temple will materialize. Is it possible to divest a Torah commandment of its simple and plain meaning? What happened to our reasoning during the long exile? This week’s amazing edition of Temple Talk grapples with the true meaning of the Torah’s commandment to erect a house for G-d, and our hosts take a long, hard look at G-d’s plans for His people Israel, vs. the rules that the nations of the world try to foist upon Israel.

The Ghost Month of Adar I: Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun
Parashat Terumah and the Temple Institute: Bringing the Holy Temple Down to Earth
As the month of Shevat draws to a close, we prepare to welcome the month of Adar, that especially auspicious, ‘lucky’ month. But this year there are two Adars! Are we twice as lucky? This year features the ‘extra’ month of Adar I, an usual phenomena of time on the Hebrew leap year calendar that’s hard to pin down. In this week’s edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman re-define this month as a special, Divinely-appointed opportunity to pack in some ‘extra’ fixing and refinement. Since refinement and re-definition is on our national agenda, what better time to begin reading the Torah portions that deal with the establishment of the Tabernacle and its vessels, the precursor of the Holy Temple and its service. This week we read the portion of Terumah, and from this point on, the Tabernacle/Temple will be the central theme of our Torah readings. But just how seriously do we regard the Torah’s instructions to “Build for Me a Sanctuary, that I will Dwell Among You” (Ex. 25:8)? Our hosts refine and re-define, delving the depths of the meaning of this commandment in a special focus on the work of the Temple Institute in preparing for the resumption of the Divine service in our time.

Bizarro World of the Temple Mount
New Twist: Not All Fruit are Created Equal! No Jewish Fruit on the Temple Mount!
As we read parashat Mishpatim this week, the nation of Israel is still standing at the foot of Mount Sinai, following the transcendent experience of receiving the Torah. What could be the follow-up to the heavens opening up and the sublime level of prophecy attained by every single person? Can you top this? Yes, we can… by taking that experience and turning it into the stuff of every day life… responsible human behavior steeped in Divine light. The Torah has a program, and a goal: to make this world into a place for the Divine Presence, on every level – for the individual and for society at large. The epicenter of the Divine Presence, of course, is the Temple Mount. The Jewish people and the righteous of the nations are visiting the Temple Mount in greater numbers and demanding the right to pray there. But in this week’s edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman explain that a visit to the Temple Mount can be like wandering into the Twilight Zone… where undemocratic and illegal police policy and zany Waqf antics now employ new methods of discrimination… including sexual harassment and a brand-new form of anti-Antisemitism: Discrimination against Tu B’Shvat fruit! Apples and oranges may be allowed on the Temple Mount, but Jews were forbidden from bringing figs and dates to the holy site on the New Year of Trees… who knew that fruit could be a forbidden expression of Jewish identity? Plus: In a bold new move of desperation, the Waqf once again completely re-writes history! Exclusive details on Temple Talk!

Jewish Destiny: To Flourish or to Merely Survive?
The Sinai Revelation and the State of Israel: You and I Can Change the World
This week’s Torah portion of Yitro features the giving of the Torah at the Sinai Revelation, the seminal event in Israel’s history and the ultimate game-changer in the history of the world. But in this week’s rousing edition of Temple Talk, our hosts ask for what purpose was Torah given to Israel? Torah is about changing Israel, and about Israel changing the world. And it seems that on account of this, as we can testify to on a daily basis, the world is dead-set on changing Israel… join us this week on Temple Talk as Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman connect the dots between Sinai, the transcendent Holy Temple experience, the passing of Ariel Sharon and other recent, difficult events in Israel. The fine line that connects between them all is, as ever, the immense and immutable personal responsibility that true commitment to Torah means for each and every one of us.

Parashat B’Shalach: What is Reality, and What is Illusion?
The Righteous Women of Israel: Prepared and Poised for Revealed Miracles
Fresh out of Egypt, in this week’s parashat B’Shalach the Israelites stand silhouetted by the sea, the Egyptian empire about to return into sand, their memory driven deep beneath the waves. Their definition of reality was about to change forever as they realized that it was nothing but a world of illusion at their door. Fast forward now, same week but this year, as the faithful Jewish people in the Land of Israel must also distinguish between reality and illusion, as forces appear to be aligning against the people, the land, and the G-d of Israel. But the month of Shevat is about realizing our own potential for growth, and realizing that it is up to us to make G-d’s dreams come true…

A Temple Talk Exclusive: The Amazing World of Mr. Magoo
The State Comptroller’s Temple Mount Report, and the Ominous Knock at the Door
Are you listening to this week’s edition of Temple Talk, or have you just entered the Twilight Zone? In this week’s Torah portion of parashat Bo, the ancient Egyptians suffer through the last three plagues: locusts, darkness and the slaying of the first born. Perhaps they asked the same question as they witnessed the substance of their very reality crumbling before their eyes. Here in Israel, we also might be wondering the same: Can this be for real? As the holy month of Shevat, the time of renewal arrives, are we really preparing to release more murderers as a pre-condition for “peace?” Enter a bumbling cartoon character. With apologies to Jim Backus, Rabbi Richman re-introduces the character of Mr. Magoo, nearsighted to a fault, who will now be filling in for the Secretary of State. Mr. Magoo prepares to return to Israel to inflict more damage, and not since Jack Nicholson descended into madness in “The Shining” have the words “Honey, I’m home” sounded so terrifying.
Plus: Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman discuss the banned, highly controversial State Comptroller’s Report on the Temple Mount. Oh, just a sec… someone’s knocking at the door…
