The Amazing Tammuz/Ramadan Dichotomy of Spiritual Growth
Moshe and the Ordinance of the Red Heifer: True Humility is the Secret of Purity
This week we read the Torah portion of Chukat, featuring the great mystery of the Red Heifer as well as the Divine decree against Moshe entering into the Land of Israel. And as the people of Israel face the challenges of the month of Tammuz, this week’s hard-hitting edition of Temple Talk looks at the parallel universe of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, a highly-touted time for ‘awareness of G-d’ which is celebrated with terror and the murder of Jews. This episode of Temple Talk is not for the politically correct!

Brilliant, wealthy, influential, and tasked with transporting the Ark of the Covenant, Korach had it all. But it wasn’t enough. He wanted more. Korach wanted to usurp Moshe’s leadership and he wanted to commandeer Aharon’s role as Kohen Gadol. Like all who reach too far, Korach was ultimately buried by his own perfidy, avarice, and unbridled ambition.
Korach (Numbers 16:1-18:32)

The New Month of Tammuz, Repentance, and the Rebellion of Korach: It’s Too Late, Baby
The month of Tammuz has arrived… hot, tense, and traditionally, tragic. This is the month which marks the ‘beginning of the end,’ the period of mourning for the destruction of the Holy Temple which begins with the fast of Tammuz 17. But in this week’s edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Chaim Richman insist that the month of Tammuz doesn’t have to be that way. It’s a time of challenge that presents us with an opportunity to fix mistakes of the past. We can start by healing the negative aspects of our vision, and endeavor to see only good. It’s a time for walking forward and being positive. So stop walking sideways, like a crab! If you want to know what that means, tune in to this week’s dynamic edition of Temple Talk!

The generation of the desert paid a high price for their lack of belief in themselves, but received the sweetest and most profound affirmation of G-d’s belief in them: the promise that their children will indeed enter the land, build the Holy Temple, and share time and space in the promised land and at the chosen place with the one true eternal G-d of Israel.

Parashat Shelach and the Key to Understanding the Sin of the Spies: The Land of Israel is the Manifestation of G-d’s Honor in this World
This week’s Torah portion of Parashat Shelach features the horrendous sin of the spies, an event of such catastrophic proportions that we are still suffering from it today. In this informative and emotional edition of Temple Talk, Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Chaim Richman take a long hard look at the ever-fashionable trend of slandering the Land of Israel, from the spies of the desert to today’s BDS movement, and, in Bob Dylan’s words, try to find out what price we have to pay to get out of going through all these things twice. If you’re interested in fixing the sin of the spies once and for all, tune in to this week’s edition of Temple Talk.

Beha’alotcha and the art of complaining: The professional complainers in the desert turned complaining from a spontaneous response to discomfort into a premeditated attempt to change fate and flee from destiny, grumbling about everything from “my feet hurt” to “I don’t wanna eat my manna!”
