Archive for Elul 5771 / Tishre 5772 - September 2011
Temple Talk is a weekly internet radio webcast with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven of the Temple Institute.
This week features:
Ki Teitzei: The War Against the Enemy Within
The Month of Elul: An Emergency Field Hospital for the Soul
The spiritually charged month of Elul affords us an opportunity to return to ourselves, to rid ourselves of all the useless clutter that we have created for ourselves throughout the year and to rededicate ourselves to our relationship with G-d. This is the opportunity that G-d has given us in advance of the awesome days of Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur. The particular Torah readings from Deuteronomy that “coincide” with the weeks preceding Rosh HaShana are evidence of G-d’s great love for us and the genius of the Hebrew calendar.

The Torah readings of the book of Deuteronomy which are read in the current month of Elul, as we approach Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, are perfectly timed and exquisitely choreographed to encourage us and strengthen us as we take stock of our selves and strive to better our selves for the upcoming year.
Ki Teitzei (Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19)
Parashat Ki Teitzei is read on Shabbat:
