Weekly Torah
The land of Israel – every grain of it – belongs to the people of Israel. By virtue of her diligent adherence to G-d’s commandments, Israel will come into undisputed possession of the land.

Shma Yisrael – Hear O Israel – we are commanded to love G-d with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our might, wherever we might be, whatever our disappointments, regardless of whether G-d has answered our prayers in the affirmative. Loving G-d is something we must strive to do always.
Va’etchanan (Deuteronomy 3:23-7:11)

Moshe, in his farewell address to Israel which comprises the entirety of the book of Deuteronomy, opens with words of rebuke. Determined to instruct and not to hurt his beloved people, Moshe “sweetens” his words of reproach with love and tenderness. As we approach the fateful 9th of Av we are sorely in need of sweet reproof as the call for us to rise up and rebuild the Holy Temple is greater now than ever.
We witness no sweeter reproof than that delivered by our own children in the short video we have prepared for these days: The Children Are Ready II: Be sure to watch it!
Devarim (Deuteronomy 1:1-3:22)
Parashat Devarim is read on Shabbat:

On Tisha B’Av, the Jewish people mourn the destruction of the Holy Temple. Seated on the floor as mourners, the adults in the synagogue recite the traditional kinnot dirges. But is the goal simply the continuation of the mourning, for the sake of mourning? The children have a different idea of what needs to be done… Please watch and share!
This is a sequel to last year’s viral video The Children are Ready with over 400,000 views.
The Temple Institute thanks all the wonderful children and adults who helped to create this video!

Possessing a G-d consciousness, being aware every moment that we live in G-d’s world, and to act accordingly, this is the role of Israel as a nation and for each of us as individuals. For Israel this reality ultimately can only be realized within the borders of the land of Israel. Those who strive for it will enter. Those who shrink from it will not.

The five daughters of Tzelaphchad, Machlah, Noa, Hogla, Milcah and Tirzah remain to this day shining examples of righteous Jews whose love of the land of Israel is irrepressible and unstoppable. Their spiritual descendents today, the righteous daughters of Israel who establish their faithful homes in Judea and Samaria are following in their virtuous footsteps.
Pinchas (Numbers 25:10-30:1)

The more things change, the more they stay the same. There is nothing new about the double-speak and double standards, lies and deceptions that Bilaam intended to utter in an attempt to curse, defame and delegitimize Israel. The same tactics are being employed today for the same reasons: Hatred toward the G-d of Israel.
Balak (Numbers 22:2-25:9)
