Everyone needs clothes. From the first garments that G-d made for Adam and Chava, to the clothes we choose for ourselves today, what we cover ourselves with reflects the essence of our inner beings. But the garments that the Kohen Gadol – High Priest – wears reflect the will of G-d and are provided for by all of Israel. The beauty and splendor they radiate are the beauty and splendor of our relationship with G-d.

Shabbat Tetzave is followed by Purim and the reading of the scroll of Esther, in which we see king Achashverosh don the priestly garments in a perverse attempt to purge his kingdom of G-d, to prevent the rebuilding of the Holy Temple and to banish G-d’s presence from all the earth. He failed then and his descendents will fail today. The Holy Temple will be rebuilt!

Tetzave (Exodus 27:20-30:10)
Parashat Tetzave is read on Shabbat:

Temple Talk is a weekly internet radio webcast with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven of the Temple Institute.

This week features:

Purim: A Burst of Light from the World to Come

The Torah Portions of the Tabernacle: Exegesis Ad Nauseum

Cohen's Duds
Purim is here, and we’ve got Purim joy! Or, as much as we could have, without the Holy Temple. Put your masks on… or, take them off! Whatever works for you, as Temple Talk’s Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Chaim Richman discuss the true nature of joy and explore the background of the Purim story of Divine intervention and miraculous intervention and its roots in the ultimate saga – the struggle for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple.

How happy can we be without the Holy Temple, anyway? Evidently, we can get used to anything. Maybe that explains why so many interpretations of the current Torah portions abound, that delve into symbolism and metaphor and ascribe all sorts of meanings to the tabernacle and its vessels, but utterly ignore the simple meaning of the words: G-d said to build it! Whatever happened to the plain ‘ol meaning of the words? Our hosts remind us exactly what happened: The Exile. It came in like a ghoul in the night, and messed up our minds. Tune in to Temple Talk and get straightened out!

The sublime beauty, limitless embrace and unifying power of the Tabernacle, and later the Holy Temple, are all contained within the first sacred vessel Israel was commanded to build: the Ark of the Covenant. Just 2.5 cubits long, 1.5 cubits wide, and 1.5 cubits high, made of acacia wood and gold, and constructed by the hands of man, the Ark nevertheless managed to straddle the expanse between our finite world and our endless source.

Calling All Motivated Hearts: Come and Build the Holy Temple!

The Suffering of King David and the Returning Light of Temple Consciousness

Covenant at Sinai
The month of Adar has arrived, and for most people that spells Purim joy, accompanied by lots of mirth. But just as Hashem’s name is hidden from the scroll of Esther, so too, there’s much more to the month of Adar than meets the eye. During Temple times, this month begins a period marked by intense preparation for bringing the Passover offering next month! Today as well, there are those that are busy trying to accomplish what hasn’t been done for a very long time… enabling the nation of Israel to once again bring the Pesach lamb. What motivates these people? What motivated those whose donated to the building of the Tabernacle, in this week’s Torah portion of Terumah? You’ve got to feel it… you’ve got to be obsessed with the Holy Temple. We learned from the best, like King David, who said “I will not allow myself sleep nor comfort until I find a place for G-d in this world.” Tune into this week’s memorable Temple Talk for a crash course… Temple Obsession 101

Biblical Faith – with Shmuel “Sam” Peak

Emunah channel is here. For Info www.torahfaith.org

When we concentrate our thoughts on the majesty of the Creator, May He be exalted, on His omnipotence, wisdom, and wealth, and then turn to the weakness and deficiency of man, his imperfection, dire need, and dependence on that which supplies his wants; when we reflect on the abounding favors and kindness which the Creator. May He be exalted, his showered upon him, and how He created him, as he did, with inherent limitations — man is dependent on and in need of that which secures his welfare, and he can attain it only by a great effort on his part — this (too) deriving from the Creator’s mercy on him, so that he come to know himself, reflect on all his affairs, and devote himself in every respect to the service of G-d, and so receive for it the reward of the World-to-Come, for which he was created, as we have explained in the Second Gate of this book; (when we consider all this, we realize) how much a man owes service, reverence, praise, thanks, and constant glorification to the Creator, may He be exalted, in light of what men owe one another in the way of praise and gratitude.

Two short videos recently made on the Temple Mount.

Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount
Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount is guaranteed by Israeli law. Yet if the Israel police hear a Jew utter a prayer on the Temple Mount he will be arrested, effectively rendering Jewish prayer at Judaism’s holiest site illegal. The official reason for banning Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount? Sensitivity to Moslem feelings.

Moslem Soccer on the Temple Mount
Playing soccer at this Moslem school on the Temple Mount has long been banned by order of the Israel Supreme Court, as it was deemed inappropriate and disrespectful of a holy site. Yet the Israel police have consistently declined to take action to enforce the court ordered ban. The official reason for allowing Moslem soccer on the Temple Mount? Sensitivity to Moslem feelings.
